Felicidad Hernández Corredera, the second-oldest living person in Spain, has been officially validated by LongeviQuest on 8 June. At the age of 112 years, 301 days, she is also the nation’s 16th-oldest person ever.
Felicidad Hernández Corredera was born in Santa María de Sando, in the province of Salamanca, Castile and León, Spain, on 11 August 1913 to parents Juan Antonio Hernández Martín and Ángela Corredera del Arco. Her six brothers were born before her; so when the only girl arrived, they welcomed her with immense joy and decided to name her Felicidad (Happiness).
Her parents instilled in her values of piety, honesty, hard work, and generosity, and through their efforts, they provided her with the opportunity to study teaching as a boarder at the Jesuit school in Salamanca. She earned her teaching certificate, a profession she practiced for several years at the school in her hometown.

She never married nor had children, dedicating her life to raising and loving her nephews and nieces; Jesús, Juan José, Inmaculada, Rosario, and José Luis as her own children. She was also always very close to her other siblings and nephews and nieces: Carmen, Ángel, Benigno, Aníbal, and Mary.
Among her hobbies were reading, crafts, knitting, and sewing. She underwent stomach surgery and treatment for several fractures, from which she made a full recovery. She also recovered from COVID-19 pneumonia without any lasting complications. Currently, she enjoys good overall health, although her vision is poor and her hearing is diminished. For several years, she has remained free from pain and discomfort, rarely experiences illness, requires very little medication, and maintains healthy sleep patterns. She retains an excellent memory and remains mentally sharp and cognitively active.
Her age was verified by Fabrizio Villatoro, with the assistance of her family, to whom we extend our sincere thanks and congratulations. We also congratulate Ms. Felicidad Hernández Corredera and wish her many more years of health and happiness.
@ale76 Congratulations to Ms. Hernández Corredera!

When the young commander of the guard declared his love for her, she rejected him simply because his frivolity startled her. "See how simple he is," she told Amaranta. "He says that he’s dying because of me, as if I were a bad case of colic."

Excellent news for Mrs Hernandez Corredera.
