Three reviewed GRG-validations (and corrected) :

• Denzō Ishizaki, JPN, 2 Oct 1886 - 29 Apr 1999, 112 years and 209 days. Whereas the GRG validated Mr Ishizaki with a date of birth of 20 Oct 1886, all sources, including a family register, point at his date of birth having been 2 Oct 1886, making him eighteen days older than previously thought.
• Umeno Sakurai, JPN, 7 Feb 1904 - 26 Aug 2016, 112 years and 201 days. Even though in hiragana the first syllable in her first name reads as 'Mu', it is pronounced as 'U' (thus rendering 'Umeno' instead of 'Mumeno').
• Oteru Takiguchi, JPN, 19 Apr 1900 - 30 Nov 2012, 112 years and 225 days. Similar to Umeno Sakurai, the 'Wo' in Mrs Takiguchi's first name is archaic, and is pronounced as 'O', thus making her first name Oteru instead of Woteru.

If there's a chance to access family registers in Japan, is there any possibility of checking Frank Kenichi Morimitsu's koseki record to see if he was born in 1886 or 1887? He claimed both birth years during his life. He would still be a SC either way, but it would make the difference between age 110 (almost 111) and 111 (almost 112). His earliest record/document that we have so far, his 1899 ship manifest entry, is ambiguous on this question, though implies 1886 without rounding. But what if he was using the East Asian age numbering system during this time?
