Hazel Skuce is the oldest living person in Canada, the last Canadian-born person born in 1912, and the oldest person ever to reside in Manitoba and second-oldest Manitoba-born person ever after Dolly Gibb.
Skuce was born Hazel Georgina Short on 7 February 1912 to George and Esther Short. Her sister Clara Hornibrook lived to be 108, making them one of the oldest sibling pairs ever. She married Richard Patmore and later John Skuce; she did not have any children.
She is the fourth person to hold the title of oldest living person in Canada this year, following Mabel Mah, Helen Doan, and Gertruda Gorecka
