Mary Harris was born on 13 May 1911 in Ithaca, New York, USA to Italian immigrants, Joseph and Concetta Delmonte Petrillose. She was born prematurely and only weighed 3.5 pounds at birth; she was not expected to survive past infancy.
She moved in to the Alexian Village of Tennessee in 2000, where she resides today.
Around 19 September 2021, following the death of Pearlie Williams, Ms. Harris became the oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Tennessee.
She is currently the fourth-oldest known living person in the United States, behind Ms. Francis, Ms. Whitehead and Ms. Senhouse.
As of September 4, 2024, she lives in Signal Mountain, Tennessee, USA.
