Ján Paľovský of Bratislava, Slovakia, turned 103 at the end of September 2022 and currently is the oldest known living man in Slovakia, as he is two months older than Jozef Krizek.

Jan Palovsky was born as Ján Pál into a peasant family in the village Rimavská Baňa, Banská Bystrica Region, Austria-Hungary (present-day Slovakia) on 29 September 1919.

He is also a centenarian famous for reasons other than longevity...

@dejan I highly doubt the OLM is currently just over 103 in a European country of 5.5 million inhabitants.

@024tomi I don't know, but official pension fund data for the Czech Republic say that the oldest living man in the Czech Republic is only 104 years old (103 when he became the oldest).

Also Jozef Kizek seems to have died in December 2022 so the new OLM of Slovakia is unknown...

@ale76 I have not been able to find confirmation that he turned 103. The last report of him was his 102nd birthday. I'll look further on Facebook, if I find anything I'll post...

Jozef Kizek seems to have died in December 2022

Jozef Krizek died on 9 December 2022, which means that for the last four days he was the oldest known living man in Slovakia.

@diego Yes, but she was last confirmed alive at the end of December 2021 after her 105th birthday.

She was in good shape then, so she's probably still alive, but it's not entirely certain because I still haven't found any of her relatives on Facebook and asked them if she's still alive because there's no confirmation of her 106th birthday in December 2022...

Do we have recent news about Mr. Frantisek Marek (b. 23 January 1920, 103?) of Zilina?

Frantisek Marek was confirmed alive today on 14 March 2023 at the age of 103:

Last newspaper report about him was done in April 2022, but an acquaintance of theirs confirmed to me today that he is still alive:

He is also the oldest known living WWII veteran in Slovakia: https://www.mod.gov.sk/46550-en/minister-gajdos-zablahozelal-vojnovemu-veteranovi-frantiskovi-marekovi-pri-prilezitosti-jeho-100-narodenin/

But Ilona was born in Slovakia and lives there too, isn't that true?
At least in that article it says that she is from Štúrovo, which is in Slovakia, sorry if I'm wrong, or misunderstood

@diego She was born in Austria-Hungary, in place that currently belongs to Slovakia. 97.95% of the population of present-day Štúrovo (Párkány in Hungarian/Gockern in German) was Hungarian in 1910, 7 years prior to Ilona's birth and 10 years prior it was ceded to newly-formed Czechoslovakia. Hungarians are still in majority today (at about 60%).
