@aquanaut_chalk two years is a very, very long time in terms of survival past 113.
Some people like to set targets and milestones,
But given that annual mortality rates are above 50% at this age level, they should be kept fairly short.
in this case Mr Mora is around 3 weeks off reaching the ages of Johnson Parks and Tomoji Tanabe, who are actually tied in terms of the number of days lived.
Reaching that milestone would see him joint 10th on the all time male list.
So that’s a good shorter term target or milestone.
Would be pretty cool if Juan is still alive on June 12, 2023 since that would be the 10th anniversary of the death of the last surviving 1800s-born and 19th century-born man. Juan would be slightly over age 114 at that point in time.
Juan strikes me as being in good condition, and that certainly helps things but is no guarantee since unfortunately one can die very suddenly at his age. Let's hope for the best, though. 🙂

@930310 That is correct. In the wake of the terrible demises of our beloved Kane and Lucile, we should be happy to see that Mr. Perez Mora is still with us :), and that he is inching his way into the top 10 oldest men to have ever lived. It is nice to finally see a man in the top 10 oldest living people again, especially one who seems to be quite content with his state of being :). Of course it is nice to fantasise about him becoming the next Kimura or Mortensen, but it is already a gift that Juan has got as far as he has, and indeed creeping towards a potentially ninth 114th male birthday :). That would already be a great feat, certainly in a time in which we are only slowly transitioning into a mindset in which we can even conceive a celebratory event, so let's not look 2 years ahead hoping that Juan will be the next Tanaka/Knauss, and hope that Mr. Perez will celebrate a happy birthday in a couple months time 🙂
That would already be a truly encouraging event!
The traditional differences in lifespans between the very oldest women and their male counterparts can be argued at typically around 3 years - give or take.
On that basis then comparatively speaking Mr Mora’s age is a slightly stronger achievement at this stage for a male than that of our current WOP, for a female.
it’s quite a while since we’ve been in that position.
Mr. Pérez Mora has received the Guinness World Records plaque certifying him as the OLM in the world:

Therefore he now has a place in the top 10 oldest verified men of all time.

Juan Vicente Perez Mora is now only 15 days away from his 114th birthday.
Juan Vicente Perez Mora looks in good shape for being so close to age 114. He looks in alot better shape than Fusa Tatsumi looked at the same age.
He also looks in better shape than Hazel Plummer, Nina Willis, and Ushi Makishi did at their 114th birthdays.
The fact that he can stand up with the support of a wooden bar near his bed shows that he is pretty strong.
As of 16 May 2023, Juan Vincente Perez Mora has reached the age of 41,627 days.
This places him one day ahead of Fred Hale, albeit that their recorded ages of 113-354 are otherwise the same.
He is therefore now the 7th oldest verified male of all time.
Juan Vicente Perez Mora is now only 10 days away from his 114th birthday.
On 17 May 2023, following the sad passing of Ms. Willis, Mr. Pérez Mora became the 8th-oldest validated living person.
