Mara Gabelica, currently the second oldest living person in Croatia (after Andjela Šoštarić), turned 108 on 8 September 2022. She currently lives in the village of Zmijavci, Municipality of Zmijavci, County of Dalmatia, Croatia. She was born in Ivanbegovina in the hamlet of Kujundžići. At the age of 17, she got married in 1932 in the hamlet of Gabelica in Podbablje At the age of 17, she got married in 1932 in the hamlet of Gabelica in Podbablje to her husband Anto, who was 12 years older than her. Then in 1953 they moved to live in Zmijavci. Ante, to Mara's great regret, died just two years later in 1955, leaving her a widow with four children, two sons and two daughters. One son, to her greatest sorrow, passed away...
In April 2021 she received the vaccine against covid-19...

Dundo Božo Kralj has been confirmed alive after almost 5 years since the last report. He lives in the village of Pridvorje in the municipality of Konavle, under the slopes of the Sniježnica mountain, Dubrovnik-Neretva County, Croatia.
He was born in Austria-Hungary (present-day Croatia) on 9 October 1915.
OLDEST KNOWN LIVING MAN IN CROATIA is since 5 March 2021 (following the death of 109-year-old Josip Kršul).

Marija Herman, the oldest living person in Croatia, passed away in Gornji Kneginec near Varaždin, at the age of 109. Her passing was reported by Varazdinski.hr. Her funeral was held in Varaždin on October 29.
Herman was born on 23 March 1915, in Croatia, then part of Austria-Hungary. Her parents were married in 1914, after which her father went to war. He was wounded in Niš and later passed away. Eight years later, her mother remarried and had two more children. She married and had two daughters, Ljerka and Ksenia, and later became a grandmother to three.
Herman spent her career as a classroom teacher. She graduated from the Teacher Training School in Čakovec and began her teaching career in Lika. She taught in Suvaja, Turanovac, and Druškovec before settling in Varaždin, where she ultimately retired in 1968.
In early 2022, she moved into a nursing home in Gornji Kneginec, having lived with her daughter up until that time.

Marija Herman, the oldest living person in Croatia
She is the 3 oldest person in the history of Croatia, the oldest in history born in Zadar, and who died in Varazdin, she was the oldest in Croatia since 27 May 2024 (154 days), she spent the shortest time in the post since Marija Bibulic (5 Mar 2021-16 Apr 2021=42 days), she was unable to surpass her predecessor, Mara Gabelica, who died at 109 years, 262 days and was the first person from Varazdin to be considered the oldest in Croatia
The oldest known person living in Croatia now is Zita Tomasic born on 19 Dec 1918 also from Varazdin. The oldest known person born in the country now is Milka Baukovic born on 5 Feb 1915 in Sisak-Moslavina, but lives in Serbia.
She was also the 3rd oldest living person in the Balkans
