Ellen Wilson - the second-oldest (known) living person in New Zealand - turns 109 today (or tomorrow, if you're in the Western Hemisphere) on 27 June 2023. It looks like she celebrated her birthday a few days early:

Great news for the country where I grew up.
NZ does ok for supercentenarians as well, given the population of about 5.3 million.

If Ellen makes it to 110 she’d be the second Wilson from NZL to get there after Maudie Wilson in 2013.
