Mrs. Catharina Adriana “Catherina” van der Linden (née van Meegen) - of Adelaide, South Australia, Australia - turned 111 years old yesterday. She was born on 26 August 1912 in Amersfoort, Utrecht, Netherlands. The celebration took place on 24 August. Happy 111th birthday! Van harte gefeliciteerd met je 111e verjaardag!

She made the newspapers over here and apparently still goes to the gym three times a week.

Last night we celebrated the 111th birthdays of Catherina van der Linden and John Tinniswood. We had a traditional English dish called bangers and mash (sausages with mashed potatoes), served with peas, and a Dutch almond-flavored butter cake (boterkoek). Van harte gefeliciteerd met jullie verjaardagen, Catherina en John!
