Congratulations to Iréne Laroche and to France as well!

France is very likely among the first five countries to reach this number of supercentenarians (after the US and Japan, and possibly China and Brazil).

ESO Correspondent for Hungary (since 2020)
GRG Correspondent for Hungary (2020-2023)
Tracker and researcher of Hungarian and other Central European (super)centenarians (since 2016)

At the upper end of the validated supercentenarian numbers (113+), and similar to the analysis Guillaume has done ...

France is generally the third highest achiever in terms of persons from France or its recognised territories. The USA and Japan dominate all but the 118+ group.

The numbers and placings for France appear to be.

113 - 38 cases - 3rd

114 - 15 cases - 3rd

115 - 5 cases - 3rd

116 - 3 cases - 3rd = with ITA

117 - 2 cases - 2nd = with USA

118 - 2 cases - 1st

119 - 1 case - 1st = with JPN and USA

120+ - first with the only case.
