Chester Meros, Maryland’s Oldest Man, Turns 110

Chester Meros, a resident of Baltimore, Maryland, USA, is celebrating his 110th birthday today, according to the Baltimore County Department of Aging.

Chester Meros was born in Pennsylvania on 14 July 1915. He moved to Baltimore around the age of 30 in search of work and eventually found employment with Bethlehem Steel, where he helped build ships. Over the years, he worked on many vessels, but his favorite was the SS John W. Brown.

His son attributed his father’s long life to good genes and a positive outlook.

At the moment, he is the fourth-oldest known living man in the United States, behind Luis Cano, Edwin Martin, and Henry Polichetti.
