Ilie Ciocan celebrated his 112th birthday today, with accordance to the OS Calendar, with the NS Calendar, he'll actually be 112 in two weeks on 10 June
P.S. I know I was a bit bold making this post considering we never know if he'll reach his birthday on 10 June, but we have high hopes for him.

Ilie Ciocan is now indisputably 112 years old! π
He's also the first validated Eastern European man to reach age 112+, since Stanislaw Kowalski very narrowly failed to do this back in 2022.

I wonder why exactly that is the case.Β If it's not too personal to ask, are there any gaps/issues with his documentation? His biography seems pretty reliable, other than him getting orphaned at a young age. He got married at age 20 and had several children afterwards, and was also a WWII veteran. He lived with his family for virtually his entire adult life, so they would have to be in on any possible identity switch, which again I believe is extraordinarily unlikely. He even managed to outlast his 87-year-old son by over five years, apparently.

@futurist Does anyone know why he still celebrates his birthday on May 28th and not June 10th?

@pablo that's the date that he was born on, but it's accordance to the old style calendar, with the new style calendar, his birthday is 10 June

@pablo yes but obviously that's the original day he was born on and they just celebrate it on that day for that reason
