Mr. Joaquim Varela of Sao Bras de Alportel, Faro District, Portugal, celebrated his 110th birthday today
He was born in Ourique, Beja District, Portugal on 13 May 1915 and he may currently be the Nation's oldest living man.

Interview as of today, on his 110th birthday. Right now he lives with her daughter in Cercal do Alentejo, in Alentejo region (where he was born and lived most of his life). Usually he lives a season with one daughter in Cercal do Alentejo and other times with other daughter in São Brás de Alportel, in Algarve region (where lives Maria da Conceição Brito, the oldest living person from Portugal).
He walks everyday 2 kilometers and drink 2 cups of Porto wine everyday. He is very lucid to his age.

He's in outstanding shape. May he have his daily walks and glasses of Porto wine for many more years!
