Ruby Davis, Missouri’s Oldest Resident, Turns 111

Ruby Davis, a resident of Shelbina, Missouri, celebrated her 111th birthday on 23 July, according to the Shelby County Herald.

Davis was born in Colony, Kansas, on 23 July 1914. Her parents were Wiley Elmore and Bertha Mae Rogers. She grew up on her family’s farm in Coffee County, Kansas, and attended Prairieville Grade School. She later went on to graduate from Colony High School in 1933. She eventually secured a position in Iola, Kansas, working at the Sifers candy factory, where she helped make Christmas candy.

She was first married to William Moore, and later to Clyde Davis. Throughout her life, she remained active in her community. She continued driving until the age of 100.

On 5 May 2025, following the passing of Mary Chesney, she became the oldest known living person in Missouri.
