Ms. Laverne Dicks of Columbia, Missouri, USA, turned 111 y.o.
She was born in Shelby Country, Missouri (USA) on 22 June 1915. She was born to Fred and Vernie Copenhaver and had at least one older sister, Lucille. Laverne attended a one-room schoolhouse and walked a mile and a half to school each day. After completing the eighth grade, she dedicated her time to helping on the family farm.
She met her husband, Raymond, in 1937. They fell in love and married in 1939, remaining devoted to each other for 53 years. In 1949, Laverne gave birth to their son, Don. Despite the demands of farm work, household responsibilities, and raising a child, she always made time for embroidery and playing cards.
