Today, the 112th birthday of Georgia's oldest resident, Nakipe Davitadze, was celebrated.
Although her actual birthday is July 4, the family customarily celebrates it on July 1.
According to the post, she turned 113, but it seems her great-granddaughter made a mistake, given that she had previously shared a post in 2024 celebrating Nakipe Davitadze's 110th birthday.
add a ? to her age: it is impossible to determine it for now; in Georgia, civil birth registration began between 1921 and 1922, whereas prior to that, birth records were based on baptisms or religious documents. Ms. Davitadze is from Adjara, a region where birth registration quality was poor during that era because the majority of the population—including Nakipe Davitadze herself—is Muslim. Consequently, a significant percentage of centenarians in Adjara born before 1921 are recorded as having been born on January 1st or July 1st.
@ale76 I'm the same person who posted it in the 110 club, so there is no problem with that. Do you now any person who knows about the validation process? For now, we can contact her great-granddaughter for more information about Nakipe.
She would be the first person from Georgia to reach the age of 112.
