@mendocino thanks, i don't know why I put it here. I have even read some papers on the Nicoya peninsula recently.
I couldn't find anything about her on any of the SC websites, though. Glad to know she is validated

Note: These are just the cases that have been confirmed alive recently - there are a few other men born in 1917, 1918, and 1919 still listed in voter records, but I can't 100% confirm that they're still alive. The true top 10 is likely 105+. Cases without public reports are listed as "anonymous", but I researched and verified all of them.

LongeviQuest is pleased to confirm that Sra. Marita Camacho Quirós, former First Lady of Costa Rica, has reached the age of 114. Sra. Camacho Quirós is the oldest validated living person in Costa Rica, as well as the longest-living First Lady (or presidential spouse) in world history.
She celebrated her 114th birthday on 8 March 2025. Her grandson told LongeviQuest that the family chose to celebrate over the weekend to ensure that all family members could attend. He also reported that her health remains “stable and doing well.”
To mark this special occasion, LongeviQuest collected over 40 birthday messages from around the world and forwarded them to Sra. Marita Camacho Quirós’ family. Her grandson, touched by the heartfelt messages, shared that they carefully read each one. Both Sra. Marita Camacho and her family expressed their deep gratitude and appreciation. “They loved the messages so much,” he said.
Sra. Camacho Quiros was born in San Ramón, Alajuela, Costa Rica on 10 March 1911, as the seventh daughter of Salustio Camacho Muñoz and Zeneida Quirós Quirós. Her second-cousin, Daniel Oduber Quirós (1921–1991), was the President of Costa Rica from 1974 to 1978.
She married Francisco Orlich Bolmarcich in Naranjo, Alajuela, Costa Rica on 16 April 1932. The couple adopted two children, Francisco José and Mauricio Orlich Camacho. Her husband served as the 34th President of Costa Rica from 1962 to 1966, during which time Sra. Camacho Quirós held the role of First Lady.
As First Lady, she traveled extensively and met with prominent historical figures, including Pope John XXIII, Francisco Franco, and U.S. Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson. She also dedicated herself to social causes, advocating for the poor and spearheading initiatives to provide housing for those in need.
Sra. Camacho Quirós has spent her entire life in Costa Rica. Widowed in 1969, she now enjoys the company of her close family, including multiple great-grandchildren.
One of the few supercentenarians recognized for achievements beyond longevity, her status as a supercentenarian was formally documented in 2021 by Latin American Supercentenarians, based on research by Fabrizio Villatoro, who now leads LongeviQuest’s research efforts in Latin America.
