Fukuoka prefecture has released information on its oldest living people. The oldest living person is 112-year-old Haruko Onizuka (鬼塚春子) of Mizukami, who was born on 18 March 1913. Unfortunately, all 110-year-old people reported on last year have entered limbo, as the new numbers two, three, and four are currently 110 years old. (For now, we cannot yet confirm who they are.) In addition, there are ten 109-year-old women. The oldest living man is 106-year-old Naomasa Tomoda (友田直正) of Shime, born on 22 September 1918.

According to the East Asian counting system, the oldest living person in Yamagata City, Yamagata is a 109-year-old woman. In practice, this means this woman is most likely 108 years old. Similarly, the reported aged of 106 for the oldest living man in the city is most probably 105 in reality.

A woman who seems to live in Chūō, Tōkyō celebrated her 110th birthday on 8 September, making it likely she was born on 8 September 1915.

The oldest living person in Kumamoto City, Kumamoto is 112-year-old Miho Matsuzaki (松崎三保), born on 18 April 1913, who is also the oldest living person in the prefecture. The oldest living man in the city is 111-year-old Hikaru Katō (加藤光), born on 2 May 1914, who is also the oldest living man in the prefecture. Additionally, there are three 109-year-old women alive in the city.

The Japanese government has released statistics for 1 September 2025, revealing 99,763 centenarians alive, an increase of 4,644 people from last year. The oldest living woman in the country is 114-year-old Shigeko Kagawa, and the oldest living man is 111-year-old Kiyotaka Mizuno.

In addition, the report verifies that 110-year-old Kyōsen Kineya (杵屋響泉) of Odawara, Kanagawa, born on 15 November 1914, is still alive. The government identifies her by her real name, Sachiko Kimura.

The oldest living man in the prefecture is 106-year-old Yūzō Iwaya (岩谷勇藏), also of Ōdate, born on 8 November 1918. The second- and third-oldest people in the prefecture are two 109-year-old women, which means that Mrs Hana Satō (佐藤 ハナ) of Semboku, born on 30 April 1914, has entered limbo. She was last confirmed alive on 1 September 2024.

The oldest living person in Saga prefecture is 108-year-old Shizuko Sueishi (居石シヅ子) of Karatsu, born on 1 February 1917. The oldest living man is 107-year-old Toshitarō Yamaguchi (山口利太郎) of Saga City, born on 5 August 1918.

The oldest living person in Kōchi prefecture is 111-year-old Terumi Kanao (金尾輝美) of Niyodogawa, born on 20 June 1914. The oldest living man has not been publicly identified.

The oldest living person in Hyōgo prefecture is a woman whose identity is undisclosed. However, because of demographics for the city of Ashiya, we know that a woman born in September 1912 is still alive. This probably concerns Mrs Chihiro Takaoka (高岡千尋). The oldest living man in the prefecture is 110-year-old Tokuji Tanigaki (谷垣德次) of Tamba, born on 8 November 1914.

The oldest living person in Gifu prefecture is 111-year-old Sei Satō (佐藤せい) of Gifu City, born on 2 September 1914. The oldest living man, a 106-year-old from Kawabe, wishes to remain anonymous.

The oldest living person in Fukushima prefecture is 109-year-old Yachiyo Shibukawa (渋川ハチヨ) of Shimogō, born on 14 November 1915. There are two additional 109-year-old women alive in the prefecture. The oldest living man is a 108-year-old from Kōriyama who wishes to remain anonymous. However, because of previous demographics for the city we know this man was born between 14 February and 30 April 1917.

The oldest living person in Toyama prefecture is 109-year-old Kazue Usui (臼井一枝) of Uozu, whose date of birth was withheld at her request. The oldest living man in the prefecture is 107-year-old Shūsō Yamada (山田秀三) of Nanto, born on 22 September 1917.

I can finally reveal what we'd secretly already known for a while, that the oldest living person in Fukui prefecture, Mrs Miyo Hokonohara (鉾之原ミヨ) of Fukui City, has reached supercentenarian status. She was born on 1 June 1915. The oldest living man in the prefecture is 107-year-old Kazuo Sasaki (佐々木一男) of Sabae, born on 27 April 1918. In addition to Mrs Miyo Hokonohara, there is a 109-year-old woman alive in the prefecture, as well as two 108-year-old women.

Unfortunately, Shizuoka prefecture reports that it will no longer publish a list of 100+ year-olds who consented to having their names published. This means that this year the prefecture confirms what we already know: the oldest living person in the prefecture is 112-year-old Yoshi Moriya (森谷よし) of Izu, born on 18 March 1913.
