Mr. Boris Pahor sadly passed away today 30 May 2022, aged 108 years and 277 days, in Trieste, Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region, Italy. He was born in the same town on 26 August 1913. He was the Doyen of Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region and the 4th OLM in Italy.
Mr. Pahor was a Slovene novelist living in Italy who was best known for his heartfelt descriptions of life as a member of the Slovenian minority in pre-Second World War increasingly fascist Italy as well as a Nazi concentration camp survivor.
