Mr. George Szilagyi sadly passed away on 20 April 2026 in New York (USA) at the age of 109 years and 111 days.
He was born on 30 December 1916 in Carei, Satu Mare, Romania.
He was the oldest Romanian male emigrant ever, the 3rd oldest living man born in Romania, the last Romanian man born in 1916, the oldest living man in New York, the 10th oldest known living man in USA, the third-oldest ethnic Hungarian man ever (excluding Miklós Kürtök), behind Mr. Sarosy and Mr. Gallai.
