Ms. Mitsu Shimabukuro (島袋光) of Ginowan City, Okinawa Prefecuture, has sadly passed away July 22, 2026, at the age of 109. Based on population statistics from Ginowan City, we know at least that she was born in March 1917. And in September 2025, she was reported as the 15th oldest living person in Okinawa Prefecture.
