Mrs. Florence Aboumrad Daniels was born on 21 July 1911 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, to Mershed Aboumrad (1882-1948) and Sarah Haddad (1890-1961), emigrants from Karoun, Lebanon. They arrived in California in 1912.
Florence had seven siblings; one of her sisters lived to be 101.
In 1930, she married Robert Trowbridge (1908-1978) in Alameda. After divorcing, she married Clayton Clarence Daniels (1908-1999) on 29 June 1935, and they had a daughter.
Her secret to longevity was taking vitamins and staying active. She was an avid vitamin taker and kept moving; she did aerobics into her 90s.
She was always smiling, always the life of the party.
She sadly passed away on 4 October 2021 in California, at the age of 110 years and 75 days.
Rest in peace, Florence!

When the young commander of the guard declared his love for her, she rejected him simply because his frivolity startled her. "See how simple he is," she told Amaranta. "He says that he’s dying because of me, as if I were a bad case of colic."
