The oldest documented living man in the Dominican Republic, Francisco Reynoso (b. 8 May 1914) of Salcedo, Hermanas Mirabal Province, sadly passed away on 17 July 2024, aged 110.
He was married to Auralia Almanzar (19 Apr 1922 - 31 Jan 2023) for around 83 years.
May he rest in peace.

Is Mr. Tineo his successor as his country's OLM or has Mr. Tineo already passed away?

He is the 9th oldest person in the country's history, he spent approximately 1 year and 138 days as the oldest person there, the longest time since Lilian Gonzalez de Andujar (12 Dec 2020-20 Nov 2022), he died at 110 years old, 70 , days, oldest person to die as the oldest in the country since Lilian Gonzalez de Andujar who died at 111 years, 228 days, the oldest person in the country now appears to be JosΓ© Manuel Polanco Tineo himself, born on May 25, 1914

You're basing this data off of what appears in the Gerontology Wiki's "List of oldest people from Dominican Republic", which contains several inaccuracies, such as failing to report the death of Jose Manuel Polanco Tineo at age 109, and mixes unverified claims (Neuton Fermin and Confesora Pena), as well as a SC claim that has been debunked (A. R. O.), in with the verified cases. There's also at least one documented SC case that's missing from the list. If you're going to make these types of statistical posts, your information needs to be based on consistent data, instead of treating a highly flawed Wiki as a reliable source. It's very presumptuous to assume that Mr. Reynoso is the "9th oldest person in his country's history" when our data on its oldest residents is so incomplete; the oldest known person from the country wasn't even discovered by researchers until around 2 years after his death, and there are almost certainly several more Dominican SC cases that remain to be discovered.Β

Reynoso was the oldest man in the Caribbean as well, the 122nd oldest person in Caribbean history
He stayed 255 days as the oldest man there, the shortest time since Puerto Rican Juan Escribano who stayed 61 days (5 Oct 2021-5 Dec 2021), died at 110 years, 70 days, the youngest on the date of death in that Since Monico Rivera Gautier (17 Nov 2022) at 109 years, 99 days, he was the 3rd Dominican to be considered the oldest living in the Caribbean, the first since Tomas Pinales Figuereo died on 24 Nov 2020

Yes, there may be cases to be discovered in all countries, Tineo's death was not reported almost anywhere, I couldn't even find it on Club 110, do you have a link, or was it confirmation via personal message?
