Ms. Shitsui Konishi (小西 志つい) of Tōkai Village, Ibaraki pr. (JPN) sadly passed away on 23 October 2025 at the age of 110 years, 64 days.
She was born in Komatsu Village, Ibaraki pr. (now Shirosato Town), on 20 August 1915, as the eldest of six siblings.
In her final months, she lived in a nursing home in Tokai Village. Konishi’s ability to preserve both her cognitive health and physical independence up to the age of 110 reflected not only inherited traits but also the devoted support and close bond she shared with her family.
She became the oldest living person in Tokai Village in 2021 and has received a celebratory visit from the village mayor every September for four consecutive years.
At her 110th birthday:
Rest in peace Ms. Konishi.
