Angélica Tiscornia, the oldest living person in Argentina, passed away this morning in Buenos Aires, at the age of 114 years, 24 days. At the time of her passing, she was the eight-oldest (validated) living person.
Tiscornia was born in Gualeguay, Entre Ríos Province, Argentina, on 22 August 1912. She had six siblings, all of whom she outlived.
In January 1938, she got married and went on to have a daughter named Marta. She outlived her only daughter, who passed away due to heart problems. In 1973, she moved to the city of Buenos Aires. At some point, she moved into a nursing home. Following her daughter’s passing, her closest living relative became her nephew, who was 80 years old as of 2021.
On 12 May 2025, following the passing of 113-year-old Isabel Barletta, she became the nation’s oldest known resident. Upon her own passing, she was succeeded by Rosa Micaela Puertas.
Very sad 😓
Rest in peace, Ms. Tiscornia.
