She had four brothers: Charles, Harold, John, and Louis Clifford (1912–2004). She was a lifelong communicant of Assumption Church. She graduated from the former Vocational High School and later worked as a secretary at Crouse-Hinds (Cooper Industries). She eventually retired from the former Holiday Inn on Buckley Road.
She married Lester Luther, and they were married for 53 years, until his passing in 1994. They had two children, Gary and Sally. In her free time, Gertrude enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, caring for her home, cooking, and playing with her canine companions, Becky and Benji.
Rest in peace.
