Happy 100th birthday, Jimmy Carter!

Jimmy Carter is now the first United States president ever to become a centenarian.

Congratulations and Happy Birthday to ex POTUS Jimmy Carter.

This is a remarkable achievement given his apparent health in recent years and his prolonged period in hospice care.

Congratulations to Jimmy Carter on the occasion of his 100th birthday!

I find it righteous that among all the former presidents of the United States, the one with perhaps the most humanity reached the great human barrier of 100 years first.

A personal note: although I wasn't alive yet at the time, in 1996, Carter spent a week in my hometown of Vác, Hungary, and helped in the construction of houses for the needy with his own hands, not far from where I grew up.

Jimmy Carter has the same initials as Jeanne Calment and Jesus Christ.

Back in February 2023 when he first went into hospice, I assumed he was going to die within a matter of days or weeks. But then he just kept going and by the summer, his 99th seemed like a real possibility; and he did in fact make it. Still, birthday number 100 was a long way off and with the death of his wife the chances of that happening were virtually erased in my mind. But he continued to survive through the following months, enjoying life as much as he could despite everything working against him.

And finally today, what we once viewed as a fantasy has become reality. This day marks an important day in longevity as the 39th president of the United States is likely the most famous person ever to reach the centenarian milestone. As has been said by many people, Mr. Carter is one of the most honest and righteous people to serve in the White House, and has also served the world well in the years since; it is well deserving that he is the first to achieve a century on our planet. As we know he will not be here much longer, we should cherish this moment while we can.

Happy Birthday President Carter

@mrcatlord No because that is a section for famous non-centenarian people.
... Jimmy Carter is now over 100: congratulations!

He’s now been in hospice care for 19 months.

At that time he also apparently ended all major treatments, for his illnesses, which were said to include an “unspecified terminal illness”.

Now hopefully he will make it far enough to see her win the election and possibly even take office (assuming she beats the orange guy)

It is really a miracle that he is still with us

Jimmy Carter has now made it to November. This is the second November he has lived in after he became a widower.

Jimmy Carter may make it to Election Day in 4 days.

Unfortunately the candidate he voted for did not win and Trump will become president again in January

I was very surprised to see that he won all of the contested states, and got the popular vote, a first for him. Especially considering he has had tons of criminal cases (and is not mentally fit to be president in my opinion)
