I am glad to announce the new LAS validation of the historical supercentenarian, the first confirmed and validated supercentenarian from Brazil, and the second one in the whole Latin America, only behind Carmen Góngora de Yaggi (ARG, 1857-1968).

Cândida Rodrigues de Jesus was born on 26 January 1867. She had more than 20 siblings. One of her nieces died at the age of 108 (more on that soon, hopefully). She passed away in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil, on 12 March 1978, at the age of 111 years, 45 days.

LAS recent validations

At 100, on 87th birthday of her brother:

At 111:

Minas Gerais - she spent all of her life there.
