Antonio Nieto was born in Macotera, Salamanca, Spain on 16 February 1890. He emigrated to the United States as a young adult, and worked in the Panama Canal Zone in the 1910s. He married a woman named Antonia, and appears to have lived most of his life in Hayward, Alameda, California. He passed away from pneumonia on 5 January 2000, sadly missing his 110th birthday by only 1 month.
