Ebe Tosi, ITA, 11 July 1913 - Present.

Other pending cases:

(Apologies if I mention any double entries already identified in previous post; it's hard to keep track of new cases with all these randomly assigned pending dates.)

Henriqueta Soares Marques, BRA, 6 May 1911 - Present.

Antonia Manzi, ITA, 20 Feb 1912 - Present.

Tripolino Giannini, ITA, 20 Aug 1912 - Present.

Jovita Medina Posadas, MEX, 1 Jan 1914 - Present. (Already LQ-validated; the GRG has opted for a 31 Dec 1913 DOB.)

At this point, it seems that they're just trying to be deliberate contrarians by going with different DOBs than what the earliest documentation supports, perhaps in an attempt at appearing that they actually did their own research independently, as opposed to just going off of what LQ has already published.

I'm also interested in hearing how they managed to verify a case that has no public reporting aside from what appears on the LQ site.

One could easily assume that they are simply attempting to mimic what LQ does, particularly when it comes to Latin American cases (trying to validate the same supercentenarians without ever discovering one independently), but I do wonder: How did they make this lady a pending case? Family contact, perhaps? To my knowledge, there are no recent Facebook posts or news reports confirming that this woman has reached the age of 110, aside from one news article that merely mentions her because she is listed on Wikipedia and Gerontology Wiki. LAS validated her via family contact, and I'm not sure if there's a single public source available.

When it comes to the records they supposedly located, have they been able to establish a connection between those and the lady who claims to be a supercentenarian? Have they verified her birthplace, parents' names, husband's name, etc., with her family? Same goes for the Argentine ladies from the other day.

It would also be amusing if they had no source whatsoever for this lady because I was under the impression that a certain someone is ready to claim even that LQ is capable of fabricating a supercentenarian case.

That's a viable explanation.

Another scenario that's crossed my mind is that they're deliberately throwing dust in fans', scientists', and journalists' eyes, trying to cast doubt over the skills,  methodology, and reputation of LQ's employees, by suggesting alternative dates of birth (which can obviously be disproven).

But then... would they really be willing to put their own reputation on the line by employing this strategy?

Overduidelijk misschien.

There may well be serious questions as to where their reputations are these days …… with appearing to “remain relevant” ….. quite possibly overshadowing “science” as they refer to it

There is also potentially the humiliation of individuals given the recent court outcomes which in essence were a function of LQ.

So perhaps there are many reasons for this group to continually look to muddy the waters and assume the data of others, as their own.

Would you mind telling me what happened in court?

Currently pending, as of 14 February 2024 (but as of 15 Feb according to their forum announcement) :

Angélica Tiscornia, ARG, 22 Aug 1912 - Present. (Already validated by LQ.)

Her case was first discovered by LAS researchers back in 2021, but we never made her pending/validated because we didn't have confirmation that the records actually belonged to her (as none of the articles mentioned her parents' names or maternal surname). It wasn't until this year when we managed to get into contact with family members to confirm the match, meaning that we had waited for over two years before completing her case.

Coincidentally, it only took the GRG 2 weeks after LQ's validation for them to announce her as pending. Again, the only reason why we were able to verify her case was because of family contact to confirm the match, meaning that the GRG is once again just taking our word for it and making her pending without any way of knowing that the records they found actually are a match. This is interesting behavior from an organization whose leader has continuously referred to LQ as being an unreliable and untrustworthy "fandom site".

So, is LQ so unreliable that it's necessary for its name to be completely censored from the entire Gerontology Wiki, or is it reliable enough to base entire GRG validations off of?

Also, Angélica Tiscornia claims to be born on on 22 August 1911, which is something that the GRG would have known if they actually researched the case themselves, instead of just taking the info directly from her LQ profile. And yes, they would have clarified this if they knew about it, since they mentioned this for Rosa Micaela Puertas, whom they erroneously state is a year younger than claimed (despite the fact that her baptismal record was literally created before the GRG claims she was born, but that's just yet another massive mistake they've made recently):

I really can’t go any further than to say that someone failed to honour major commitments made and was also not in a position to defend their actions, when formally held accountable.

So the process was fairly straight forward in terms of outcomes.

Magdalena Oliver Gabarro (1903-2019) is now pending by the GRG. She is the third-oldest Spanish person ever, second-oldest Spanish-born person ever, and only Spanish person to die at 115

She always seemed to me like one of the oldest cases that was actually quite plausible

That will be a huge validation if it gets over the line.

its so been around for quite a while hence one wonders whether something “material” has come to light ??
