  • Fernando Pereira is the 38th oldest man in the history of Portugal.
  • On January 7, there were 14 people on the list; since then, the count had never been 16 or lower—until now, with 16.
  • On April 4, 2025, there were seven 106+ year-olds here; since then, the count had never been 8 or lower—until now, with 8.

Didn't know where else to post this, but today marks 4 years since Mr. Joaquim Varela became the oldest living man in Portugal (following the death of Mr. Manuel Ferreira on 21 September 2022). Congratulations to him for reaching a third incredible milestone within the space of less than a month (after becoming the oldest living person in Portugal on 22 August and the oldest living man in Europe on 15 September)!
