My question is that John Huang and Zhou Renqing how documented are they, cause I think Zhou is Plausible case in my opinion and possibly John as well. I'm just wondering what more documentation they need to be included in this list.
I would assume early-life proof of their age.ΒMy question is that John Huang and Zhou Renqing how documented are they, cause I think Zhou is Plausible case in my opinion and possibly John as well. I'm just wondering what more documentation they need to be included in this list.

In theory, both of them might have it:

"John Huang was born in Southern Vietnam, French Indochina (present-day Vietnam) on 1 February 1914. He completed his education in Southern Vietnam where he grew up with his older siblings. In 1931, at the age of 17, together with his family, he left Vietnam and moved to the Netherlands (first to Suriname), where they set up an antique shop a few years later."
Though for Mr. Zhou, it might be easier than for Mr. Huang, since our best bet for Mr. Huang is an immigration record to Suriname from when he was 17.

Β I wonder what and when was the record for living men 111+? Maybe 2002? At the beginning of this century men were doing very well, but maybe it's a different date?
See the posts above. They could give you some ideas in regards to this.

It turns out Luis' name has a "y" in it. It is pronounced Luis Carrasco-Munoz y Perez de la IslaTop 10 World's Oldest Living Men (as of 14th March 2025)

@billy-robinson The "y" is optative. It means "and". Carrasco-MuΓ±oz is the first surname (the paternal one), while PΓ©rez de la Isla is the second (maternal). Some time ago it was very common to add the "y", but now this form is less frequent.
Anyway, the correct name is Luis Carrasco-MuΓ±oz (y) PΓ©rez de la Isla.
Yeah, sorry I'm now realising what that meant

As of the 4 Nov 2024 list there were no 2 112+ on the list, it remained that way until John Tinniswood's death on 25 Nov 2024
Ilie Ciocan has gone much further than I expected he would go! When he was 109 and already looked very frail, I was hoping that he would reach age 110, but he has managed to reach age 111.75+ and become the oldest validated man ever from Romania! There's a decent chance that he will surpass Stanislaw Kowalski's age of 111y,356d and become the oldest validated man to ever die in Eastern Europe.
Being able to survive and successfully recover from a hip fracture after a fall at age 111 in spite of him looking very frail is truly amazing!
BTW, Marcel Meys could have lived longer had he not gotten COVID-19, or had he gotten vaccinated for COVID-19. That could have extended the December 2021 reign.
I'd have given Marcel Meys about 50% odds of reaching age 113+ without COVID-19. He had slightly over half a year left to go when COVID-19 killed him, possibly in large part due to him still being unvaccinated.

I noticed that 8 out of the 10 men here (all but men #4 and #10) are either Latin American or Latin. (Romania is also a Romance-speaking country that has its language originate from Latin. Ditto for Spain.)
