@024tomi It has nothing to do with GRG.

Ghost cases are people whose death is not registered in the system, but actually died 30-40 years ago. A similar situation is with the pension insurance fund, some men have died long ago, but their wives are still alive and receive a pension on his name... The central registry of every other country contains many cases of ghosts whose deaths have not been registered..

@dejan the problem is you base this assumption on your experience with the Balkans. Is it believeable that Julijana Zakrajšek is the seventh-oldest living person in Slovenia at 110? No. Is it believeable that there are some living people in Finland at 106-107 who never appeared in the media? Absolutely yes. So just taking them out from the list because you're frustrated they're unidentified and saying they are ghost cases... very unprofessional.

@024tomi I believe that Julijana Zakrajšek is the oldest living person in Slovenia, although the pension fund claims that it is a man born in January 1911. (currently there are seven supercentenarians living in Slovenia without any evidence, unacceptable)...

If someone is unidentified and has never appeared in public, he is put on a special list where there are incomplete cases, not on the main list, because the question is whether that person exists at all. Of course there are cases that have not appeared in the public, but that is a very small percentage...

The population census is perhaps a little more reliable than various statistical data, considering that it is impossible to enumerate dead people as alive during the census, at least in countries where enumerators do the same from house to house...

@ale76 That's right. However, the unidentified men of Turku and Pyhtää were still alive at the end of last year. It's interesting to note that the 108-year-old man is still married!

If the person mentioned here in this comment from 2018 is indeed this anonymous 1914-born man, then it would mean his wife is only in her mid 80s now, and married within the past decade or so.

@mendocino Well, it could just be the same man in his late 90s and his wife now in her late 80s. He probably increased his date of birth because of his early retirement, so now he is afraid to appear in public... It shows his wife is also still alive in her late 80's, he could be in his late 90's. The chances that the men from 1914 and 1915 are true are divided 50 / 50%. (107 and 108 high number for Finish men)...

@dejan Age inflation for native-born people in the Nordic countries is as good as impossible thanks to the advanced civil registration systems that are in place.

You must be a world-leading researcher of Finnish age exaggeration.
