Please use a '?' for questionable cases

His name isn't João Da Missanga, though. The first name is correct, but the surname is completely different.

Just wanted to update you all about Mr. João Da Missanga. I did some deep digging today and found that he has family living in Tabira, Pernambuco, Brazil. Now, I know this doesn't say a whole lot, but it's possible that he could've been born in this town, and might still live there today.

The news station that reported his 115th birthday this March is also located in Tabira. I sent them a message asking if his family has considered applying for the Guinness World Record. I found his son's Facebook account and sent him the same message.

I also found several pictures of Mr. Missanga, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post them here. I made a video detailing his life, but I'm choosing to not post it anywhere until I get permission to do so. 

If someone could please create a page for him on the Gerontology Fandom Site that would be amazing and a huge help. I would do it, but I don't have a clue how website creating works. 

If Mr. Missanga's age is true, he may be the 5th oldest man ever recorded! (Assuming that Alves becomes fully validated)

Just spoke to a man on Facebook whose name I won't give for privacy reasons, but this man who appears to be in his 60s told me that João Da Missanga use to take care of him as a child, and at that time he was already "an old man with graying of the hair and beard". While it's not actual proof of João's age, it definitely supports it.

Here is a possible match for one of João Da Missanga's relatives, if it might be any help. João's wife's Surname is Lima.

Another possible match for a relative of João Da Missanga. The name, place of birth, and the mother's surname is a perfect match for João's son, but the birthyear matches João's.

I cannot believe I'm writing this, but it was just confirmed that João Da Missanga passed away today at the claimed age of 115. I know deep in my heart, that Christ our Lord receives him with open arms. May he R.I.P. Thank you sir, for being a huge inspiration to me while you were on Earth.

@ale76 Joaos age wasn't verified by the LQ and was not listed as being born in 1913. The other man was Anonymous man of Brazil who died on 1 November. Joao died on 2 November

I am glad that João turned out to indeed be a supercentenarian, even if he was incorrect about his age.

@aquanaut_chalk did you know anything about him actually being 110? You seemed somewhat sure that was evidence to support him being 115
