Apparently Merle has been asked to do jury duty
Her grandson mentioned in a 2018 post that she has dementia, so I wonder how aware she is now. In the videos from her 110th birthday, she seemed quite lucid, but sometimes it's hard to tell just from some short clips.

“An update for all those reaching out and all those that follow and love Merle.
Merle fell ill last week, the day of the previous post. She has been fighting as best she can but her age, unfortunately is working against her. 😔 At this time, we are unsure of what the coming days will bring.
Her family, friends and staff have been rallying for her and keeping her comfortable. Lots of love and visits . . . all of our hearts are breaking as each day passes. 💔
Please keep our darling Merle in your thoughts. So many people have grown to love her, in person and online.
So thankful for this outing with her in September. “This is a wonderful outing” she said.”
