Erna Brosig was born on 15 January 1911 in Breslau (now Wroclaw), Silesia, Germany (now POL).

Mrs. Brosig became the oldest known living person in Lower Saxony, following the death of 110-year-old Ms. Kolterjahn in 2021. She is also the last (known) living person in Germany born in 1911.

As of March 1, 2024, she lives in Hannover, Lower Saxony (GER).
