Josepha Pomares Camargo was born on 21 April 1911 in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Her father was an immigrant from Murcia, Spain and was 56 years old at the time of her birth. Her mother was a local Afro-Brazilian woman.

Ms. Pomares Camargo is currently the oldest validated living person in the State of Parana.

As of March 27, 2024, she lives in Sao Jose dos Pinhais, Parana (BRA).
