@josia9353 Sarah Knauss has been actually the all-time validated second since May 1998, for almost 24 years (ignoring Izumi).

8 April in Japan: Ms. Kane Tanaka (43,561 days lived) is now one day above Sarah Knauss in the number of total days lived!

It's still not until tomorrow for Kane Tanaka to tie Sarah Knauss in the oldest validated people ever lists having reached the age of 119 years and 97 days.

Kane Takana is older than Sarah Knauss (I fail to see this as worthy of discussion). We are making progress. To me, this strongly suggests that if we don't destroy ourselves, people will ultimately reach any age. (Not saying 150 will be reached this century by any means, but probably the next (having a lot of confidence in age-reversal therapies ;).)

Congratulations Kane Tanaka on reaching the incredible milestone of becoming the second oldest validated person ever.
Kane Tanaka has amazed us for years, breaking records which had stood unbroken for decades and defying our every expectation. For over 22 years, no validated person celebrated their 118th birthday; not just did Kane Tanaka do this, but she is still alive over 15 months after doing so.
Kane Tanaka’s age is truly incredible and we are so fortunate to share the Earth with her. I often consider her age and the changes she’s seen in her amazingly long life - how she was already 70 in 1973 - which to many must seem to be a long time ago. Kane Tanaka’s life spanned nearly the entire 20th Century and she still is still with us over two decades into the 21st.
Congratulations Kane Tanaka on this amazing milestone, the latest in a very long line.

After Sarah Knauss passed away in 1999 at the age of 119 years and 97 days, it took over 22 years for someone else to reach the age of 119 years and 97 days. The age has finally been reached after more than 22 years by the amazing Kane Tanaka! Congratulations to Kane Tanaka!

Kane Tanaka has reached 119 years and 98 days. She has surpassed Sarah Knauss. She is now the second oldest validated person ever! Congratulations to Kane Tanaka! It took more than 22 years for someone to be living in spot 2 again. It has finally happened. Kane Tanaka is a living legend.

119 years and 98 days.
I would have never thought the amazing Sarah Knauss would be pushed back to third place on the all-time validated ranking list as early as April 2022. Maybe in the last few weeks, but neither on Kane's 119th birthday, nor one year ago, let alone five years ago.
This might be the last huge milestone reached by Kane Tanaka. Let's enjoy the moment. However, this is certainly not the last great achievement of hers. Every single day she spends among us is an extremely big feat and we can only be thankful; thankful for her and thankful for everyone surrounding and helping her.
You're truly magnificent, Kane Tanaka.🌺
