Top 3 French living people as of 31 Mar. 2022:
1. Lucile Randon (Toulon, Var) (b. 11 February 1904), 118 y.o.
2. Iréna Martial (Le Gosier, Guadeloupe) (b. 28 June 1909), 112 y.o. (not living in mainland France)
3. Juliette Bildé (Saint-Loup-Lamairé, Deux-Sèvres) (b. 30 September 1909), 112 y.o.
The very huge gap between No.1 and No.2 is notable. She in the ranking is be like Usain Bolt.

Congratulations to Lucile Randon for becoming the (presumed) world's oldest person!
Guinness World Records have announced Lucile Randon as the official world’s oldest living person:
GRG Administrative Assistant for Database Administration (27 February 2016 – 18 November 2022)
I suppose this was the fastest GWR (longevity related) recognition ever. A new type of record.
Big congratulations to Mrs. Randon!

Here she says that becoming the oldest living person is a source of pride, but also a "disaster", as she would like to give back to others what they've given to her.

(What is your secret to longevity?)
Oh gosh, god knows.
Because they say work kills you, I say it makes you live.
(My sister, what message would you like to convey to the whole world watching you?)
May God make people help each other and love each other, instead of hating each other, because there is too much hatred in the world.
There is too much hate; if we shared everything, it would be much better.

Congratulations to Soeur André on having become the world's oldest living person!
Overduidelijk misschien.
Congratulations to Lucile Randon on having become the doyenne of humanity! I'm amazed by her mental (and vocal) capabilities at 118. I hope she's in fact able to feel the pride she was talking about.

This new report shows what seems to be her 1998 ID card photo, from when she was aged 94:

Lucile is now only 1 year younger than Sarah Knauss's final age!
i can see her making it to 119
@landon I guess you'd have to, if you're a betting man. If we extend 1-year survival ratio of 40% to the transition 118 → 119 (it's now 100%, but that's probably not representative, or 118 would be the easiest age to pass :p), then given that she's 118¼, the odds of it are definitely better than 50/50.
The soonest possible moment Kane Tanaka will be surpassed, barring validation of any (unlikely) extreme longevity cases, is now 1 year from today!
Lucile is now a full year older than the amazing Ms Violet Brown!
And at 118-179 she passed the halfway mark between:
The reported (and currently validated) age of 117 260 for Nabi Tajima and
The validated age of Sarah Knauss at 119-97.
With the passing of Mrs. Juniewicz, Mrs. Randon has now become a statistical outlier, having outlived the entire 1905 and 1906 cohorts and she is more than three years older than Mrs. Branyas Morrera, who is the 2OLP.
I think it will be quiet unlikely to get an imminent successor of Lucile or Kane..
