Raymunda Luzia da Conceição, a resident of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, celebrated her 114th birthday on 1 August.

Raymunda Luzia da Conceição was born in Carangola, Minas Gerais, on 1 August 1911. She spent only the first year of her life in her birthplace before moving to Alvarenga. At the age of 17, she married Antônio Augusto da Silva, a young man her own age. Together, they handcrafted hats made from hare fur, leather, and wool. The couple had nine children.

At the age of 44, the family relocated to Belo Horizonte. There, she worked as a washerwoman in private homes and also did laundry in her own home. This was a challenging period—she often had to carry heavy bundles of clothes on her head and relied on limited public transportation. Despite her modest financial means, Raymunda was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends.

She has one surviving child, Maria Augusta da Silva, who is 89 years old.

If her age were officially validated, she would be the fourth-oldest living person in Brazil. Her age has not yet been officially validated by LongeviQuest, but we are conducting thorough research to document it.
