
Maria José Guimarães, a resident of Barra Mansa, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, celebrated her 111th birthday on 16 April.
Maria José Guimarães was born on 16 April 1915 in Barra do Piraí, Rio de Janeiro, to Portuguese immigrant parents Cândido dos Santos Fernandes (1870 – 1949) and Maria Ventura Fernandes (1879 – 1971).
On 6 February 1932, she married Lauro Guimarães (1912 – 1989), and the couple had seven children.
Her age was verified by Stefan Maglov, Gabriel Ainsworth, Iara Souza, with assistance of her family, and validated by LongeviQuest on 14 March 2026.
