The latest article I could find on Kame Uema was September 15, 2020. Should she be put into limbo?

Edit: Not sure if it's the latest article, but I could not find any newer

Japan might've been the last country left with a top 10 completely born in 190x, aside from possibly Brazil or China. Considering there are now less than 20 documented people worldwide born in this decade who are still living, Japan's SC performance is extremely impressive.

10. Miyo Iwamoto (Hiratsuka, Kanagawa pr.) (b. 7 March 1910), 112 y.o.

According to my knowledge, Miyo Iwamoto died in May 2021.

Overduidelijk misschien.

@ale76 Your number 10 might also be a woman from Toride, Ibaraki, born 2 Jan - 1 Apr 1910. There's also a possibility she's a woman from Higashimurayama, Tōkyō, born 16 Sept 1909 - 15 Sept 1910. And there's even a tiny chance there's a woman residing in Ōsaka prefecture, born around 15 August 1909 (but I'd need to see more proof of that to be convinced).

Overduidelijk misschien.

@aquanaut_chalk I think that kame uema should be taken out of this list if she has not been confirmed alive for the past 2 years

Yes, exactly, I wasn't saying you were wrong. I was just trying to say there are multiple options for number 10 (as your question mark also implies).

Overduidelijk misschien.

I.. I really feel that Kame Uema of Okinawa is the second coming of Matsu Gaja.

This case would be in the top 10 oldest living people in the world. But incredibly unknown to people.
