Mr. Karlheinz Stauber - of Landshut, Bavaria, Germany - sadly passed away on 17 February 2024, aged 109 years and 115 days.

He was born on 25 October 1914 and was currently the 26th oldest known living German.

He was the 21st oldest man in the history of Germany, he was the oldest man in Germany for less time than his predecessor, Hans Schornack who stayed for 2 years and 243 days, and died younger than him too, who died at 110 years old and 358 days, the last oldest man in Germany who was from Bavaria was Martin Dressel (between 23 Feb 2011 to 8 May 2011), among those we know where they were from (some have unknown place of death) he was the 4th who was from Bavaria.His successor Karl Haidle is from Baden-Wuerttemberg and is the fifth from that region (the most recent was Hermann Mayer-Kaupp between 12 Sept 2008 and 15 Jan 2009)
Stauber was also the 3rd oldest survivor of WWII,and 17th oldest known European man alive
