Mr. Kazuyoshi Mikami (三上一禧) of Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture, sadly passed away on July 2, 2026, at the age of 109 years, 52 days.
He was born May 11, 1917 in Aomori Prefecture. He was the oldest man in the prefecture from at least September 2023 and ''the last surviving Japanese Zero pilot.'' Additionally, the prefecture reported that, as of September 2025, the individual was the sixth-oldest  iving person in the prefecture. I do not currently know who the oldest man in the prefecture is.
