The oldest person from Switzerland, Mrs Marie Guerne, born on 26 March 1912 unfortunately passed away on 23 February 2024 in Orvin, canton of Bern at the age of 111y/334d.

Sad news for Switzerland.
She was the oldest living woman in Switzerland since November 2020. She was born on 26 March 1912 in the Canton of Lucerne, she married in Biel/Bienne in the Canton of Berne. Later she moved to a retirement home in Orvin, Canton of Berne, where she lived for more than 20 years.

She was the oldest in the country by3 years and 99 days and was the oldest in the country since Rosa Rein who stayed between 3 September 2006 and 14 February 2010 (3 years and 164 days) and the oldest person acquaintance born in Switzerland since March 9, 2021
His successor is Anna Furrer born 23 June 1913
She was the 3rd oldest in the history of Switzerland, her successor is the 9th
She died younger than her predecessor (Alice Schaufelberger, 112 years and 310 days) She was the 5th person living in Bern to be the oldest in the country, the last was Frieda Binz-Schoch from 27 August 2017 to 28 December 2017
