Ms. Komatsu Kawai (河合こまつ) sadly passed away in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, on 13 November 2025, at the age of 110 years and 346 days.
At the time of her death, she was the oldest living person in Hamamatsu City (following the death of 111-year-old Masae Furuhashi on 23 September 2025).

Following her death, 109-year-old Masako Wade became the oldest living person in Hamamatsu City.
