No it wasn't, this was a limbo case that had died abroad several years ago. The last time Finland had a 108-year-old man was on 17th January 2025.

Mr. Ryynänen turned 107 as confirmed by his nephew on Threads.

Born on 19 October 1919, he is a veteran of the Winter War (1939-1940) and one of the very few remaining veterans alive who served during that war. He was a member of Suojeluskunta (The Finnish Civil Guard) in his youth. After the winter war he got more military training and became a combat engineer. During the Continuation War (1941-1944) he was involved in building bridges and minesweeping, among other things. After the war he worked in the forest industry. His hobbies included hunting, nature photography and woodworking. He is also a founding member of the Lions Club in Tuusniemi and probably one of the oldest Lions Club members in the world. 

Ryynänen and his wife married around 1946 and had four children, he also credits his wife for his longevity, as she maintained discipline when it came to food and "he hasn't been able to eat or drink himself to death" as Ryynänen himself put it. His wife was still alive at the age of 98 as of September 2025, but living in a care home due to memory issues. As of 2025, they had been married close to 80 years.

As of his 106th birthday, Ryynänen was still living on his own, but it seems since then he has moved into a retirement home.
