Mrs. Maria Helena Saraiva de Aguiar from Porto, Portugal, died today, at age 111. She was born on 2 November 1913, in São Tomé and Príncipe, then part of portuguese territory and living in Portugal since age of 3. She was the second oldest living person in Portugal, after Maria da Conceição de Brito.
She was also the second oldest living nun in the world and the oldest nun ever from Portugal.
May she rest in peace 😥💐

She was the oldest person in Porto since January 12, 2023, and is the 4th oldest person in Porto's history.
She was the oldest living nun in Europe since July 17, 2024, and was the last known person born in 1913 to die in Portugal.
She is the 13th oldest person to die in Portugal.
She is the 11th oldest ecclesiastical person in history, the oldest person in the history of São Tomé and Príncipe.
