Ms. Ascensión Capilla Rodríguez of Madrid, Madrid Community (ESP) sadly passed away on 8 March 2026 at the age of 111 years old.
She was the fourth oldest living person in Spain at the time of her passing.
Rest in Peace.

Spanish Woman Ascensión Capilla Rodríguez Dies at 111
Ascensión Capilla Rodríguez, a resident of Madrid, Spain, passed away today, at the age of 111 years, 237 days. Her passing was first reported by Extremeños Centenarios.
Ascensión Capilla Rodríguez was born in Cabeza del Buey, Badajoz, Extremadura, Spain, on 14 July 1914. She did not marry but had a child. She was affectionately known by her family as “La Chonita.”
On 29 October 2025, following the passing of Luis Carrasco-Muñoz y Pérez de la Isla, she became the oldest known living person in the Community of Madrid.
