Catalina Cantallops Nicolau, a resident of Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain, recently passed away, just shy of her 111th birthday, according to Última Hora.
Catalina Cantallops Nicolau was born on 20 June 1915. She spent her entire professional life without ever leaving the island. It was only after retiring that she had the opportunity to travel, though her journeys remained relatively modest. She visited Maó, Barcelona, and Madrid.
According to reports, she did not follow any particular diet, eating a wide variety of foods, including rice, meat, fish, and soup.
After turning 110 years old in June 2025, she became only the second known person in the Balearic Islands to reach that milestone. The first was Joan Riudavets Moll, who turned 110 in 1999 and later died in 2004 at the age of 114.
Rest in peace .

When the young commander of the guard declared his love for her, she rejected him simply because his frivolity startled her. "See how simple he is," she told Amaranta. "He says that he’s dying because of me, as if I were a bad case of colic."
